It’s a Sign

Have you ever had that training plan?

That training plan that is going so well it’s scary?

Then one week you’re the 3rd day in and something shifts…

  • You got sick.

  • Work got busier than expected.

  • Kids were clingy.

  • Energy just wasn’t at the right level.

  • Something just felt off.

So you took the day off.

You’re fine…it’s one day.

The next day you get back to the planned day. Not trying to add on mileage or extra reps — just picking up where you left off.

Then the weekend comes. And things shift again — unexpectedly.

You had it all mapped out perfectly…when your would hit you work. But the day shifted.

  • You got sick.

  • Work got busier than expected.

  • Kids were clingy.

  • Energy just wasn’t at the right level.

  • Something just felt off.

The day goes on and the next thing you know it’s 7pm. No shot now you’re starting the training day because your body is done for the day. It’s asking you to do nothing more.

And that’s okay.

We live in a world that is constantly doing. Constantly seeking fulfillment from doing. Constantly trying to get better and push ourselves too far.

What if…

  • You listened.

  • You shifted your mind.

  • Learn to rest on days the plan doesn’t happen.

  • Remind yourself that this isn’t a setback, it’s a sign that your body needs this space in order to hit the next level — the next big training block.

It sounds scary. Hell, it feels scary in the moment. But when you reflect back and allow the rest or allow the time with loved ones to become priority, your mind shifts.

You become stronger.

You become hungry for more.

All while being mindful.

So the next time your plan gets ‘derailed’ and you start to spiral, remember this:

  • Stress + rest = growth

  • We need space in order to gain more.

  • We need rest in order to progress.

It’s not a setback. It’s actually a big stride forward into helping you get to where you want to be.
